Well, today is essentially the deadline for the Michigan Legislature to pass a re-vote bill, since the Legislature is going on a 2 week recess after today, and there wouldn’t be enough time to set it up after that. The proposed date is June 3rd, and as I said here (https://inkslwc.wordpress.com/2008/03/18/no-re-vote-in-michigan/), it appears that the re-vote probably won’t have enough support. The Republicans, including Representative Bill Caul (R-99th District) who I spoke to have said that they “would not stand in the way” – whether that is a YEA vote, or an abstention, I don’t know. If the Republicans vote YEA, it WILL pass the Senate, and it’ll be up to the Democratic controlled House. If they abstain, who knows how it will do.
If they don’t pass it, it’s up to the Democratic National Committe whether or not to seat delegates, and I don’t think that they will (for either Michgian or Florida).
I will keep you updated as the Legislature makes a decision.
