South Carolina Republican Primary Results as of 8:30 P.M.

In the last 30 minutes, Fred Thompson gave a speech.  From what I heard, it looks as if he’s wrapping up his campaign, and I’m no longer confident in my previous prediction where I said that he’ll at least hold out until his home state of Tennessee votes on Super Tuesday (February 5th).  Who knows – what’s even more up in the air is the result of the primary election.

Here are the results as of 8:30 P.M. with 40% reporting:

  1. McCain 57,680 35%
  2. Huckabee 50,715 30%
  3. Thompson 25,242 15%
  4. Romney 23,906 14%
  5. Paul 6,215 4%
  6. Giuliani 3,392 2%
  7. Hunter 377 0%

Huckabee has closed the gap in the past 30 minutes, getting as close as within a 4% margin – it will be VERY close!

Done Reporting,
