In a semi-controversial move, the Democratic Party of SC has said that they will not allow Stephen Colbert on the primary ballot, because he is not a “serious” candidate.
Good news for serious candidates, like Obama, but bad for Democrats who are trying to attract young people. They’ll be seen as slamming the door on some new young voters, and Colbert may run as an Independent. Hopefully the Republicans will reach out and allow him to be on the ballot.
I seriously think this will hurt the Dem’s image to younger people over all, and they really can’t afford that.
