OK, right now, the Michigan House of Reps. is deciding the fate of the 2008 Presidential Primary. Legislation passed the Senate that would require Michigan to hold a joint primary on January 15th, allowing for everybody to vote. If this passes, Governor Granholm has promised to sign it immediately.
If it does not pass, the Michigan Republicans will be forced to hold a closed primary (due to funding) so that only delegates can vote, meaning that the fate of the 2008 Primary will be in the hands of only a handful of people.
I urge you to contact your State Representative and urge them to pass this legislation so that we will have a joint primary.
