Two Illegal Immigrants Arraigned on Murder Charges in Troy

March 15, 2008

Well, I had heard about these murders earlier this week – and now 2 suspects have been arrested and arraigned.  What makes this case worse is that the 2 murderers never should have been here in the first place – they were illegal immigrants.  Miguel Angel Servando and Nelson Oswaldo Mendoza (both from Texas) were charged with the first degree murders of Brij Mohan Chhabra and his wife Aasha Chhabra.  The couple was murdered in their home on Tuesday.

District Judge Michael A. Martone denied the two men for bond and entered non-guilty pleas for them, as they stood silent in the courtroom.  An interpreter translated the charges and proceedings for the men.

Assistant Oakland County Prosecutor Ken Frazee said, “We are confident we have the right criminals.  We are going to leave the victims victims [sic] family out of this right now,” in response to question about the victims’ family’s safety and whether the murder was done for hire.  The rumors arose after it was discovered that the couple had sued someone in Texas over a money dispute (source: http://www.theoaklandpress.com/stories/031408/loc_20080314380.shtml).

The two illegal immigrants had been pulled over in Taylor (which is just 2 cities away from my hometown of Lincoln Park) for a “routine traffic check,” upon which the officers found a gun, blood, and the Troy couple’s address on some paperwork.  The officers then went and checked the house and found the couple to have been shot.

This all could’ve been avoided.  Either the illegals were driving without a license, or they had got a license illegally (because Texas does NOT give licenses to illegal immigrants).  We need to crack down on illegal immigrants, because once you’ve broken a law and make your entire life a habit of law breaking (once an illegal immigrant, always an illegal immigrant – you’re constantly breaking the law!), you’re more likely to break more laws.  Send ‘em back, not to Iraq!

Michigan Allows Temporary Immigrants to Get ID Cards

March 10, 2008

The criticisms about requiring legal status to be proved in order to get a driver’s license in Michigan (in order to keep illegal immigrants from getting them) should stop now.  See http://inkslwc.wordpress.com/2008/01/22/legal-status-must-now-be-proved-to-get-a-license-in-michigan/#comment-1042 for some of those criticisms.

On February 15th, Governer Granholm signed into law a measure that allowed legal residents of Michigan that are only here temporarily to apply for a driver’s license.  On February 28th, Senate Bill 654 (”An act to provide for an official personal identification card; to provide for its form, issuance and use; to regulate the use and disclosure of information obtained from the card; to prescribe the powers and duties of the secretary of state; to prescribe fees; to prescribe certain penalties for violations; and to provide an appropriation for certain purposes”, sponsored by Senator Alan Sanborn (R-Richmond), passed, giving temporary residents the privilege of applying for state personal ID cards.

This was a good move – although I really don’t think most categories of temporary immigrants need the cards (like many that were listed in the comment that I linked to), there are definitely categories of immigrants that this will be VERY beneficial to.

I commend the Republicans and Democrats for passing this measure.  I didn’t find anything, but I’m assuming that Governor Granholm passed this bill since she signed the other one.

Legal Status Must Now Be Proved to Get a License in Michigan

January 22, 2008

Today Michigan will take an important step in protecting us from terrorism and illegal immigrants.  Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land had a press conference on Monday at the North American International Auto Show at the Cobo Center in Detroit, where she said that the state would now be following Attorney General Mike Cox’s ban which disallows illegals from getting driver’s licenses.  She said, “If you are not here legally or permanently, then we will not issue a driver’s license.  From now on, we will not accept foreign birth certificates, just passports.  No matter who comes in, they will have to go through the proper process, and our anti-fraud department will go over documents, which is something we always have done.”

Of course, we have people who say that this will harm businesses and prevent some legal residents from getting driver’s licenses.  Dawud Walid, the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said, “It’s a shame in this current environment that people who are legally (in Michigan from) throughout the world will not be able to obtain a driver’s license or state ID.”  I disagree – how hard is it to go get some paperwork to prove that you’re here legally?  And better safe than sorry in my opinion.

This is all part of Terri Lynn Land’s plan to get Michigan IDs up to the Real ID standard (see my post on that here: http://inkslwc.wordpress.com/2008/01/12/real-id-plan-analyzed-scrutinized-criticized-and-praised/).

I say this is a great step in getting rid of the illegal immigrants – hopefully we can catch some trying to slip through the cracks and get a license.  Send ‘em back, not to Iraq!

Over Half of U.S. Hispanics Fear Deportation

December 13, 2007

I find this one just shocking:

PHOENIX (Reuters) – The intense debate over illegal immigration has made life more difficult for U.S. Hispanics, the fastest-growing minority in the country, with many fearing deportation and having difficulty finding work and housing, study found.

The report by the Pew Hispanic Center released on Thursday found that just over half of all Hispanic adults in the United States worry that they, a family member or a close friend could be deported.

Read the rest here: http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSN1322625620071213.

So if over half of all Hispanic adults in the US fear that a family member or close friend could be deported, this means that OVER HALF OF THE HISPANICS LIVING IN THE U.S. KNOW AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT!  This is ridiculous.  As of now, Hispanics make up over 13% of the people living in America – I know that this survey was only of adults, but let’s just assume (in order to make this easier on me – if you want, go find the make-up of adults).  So that means that in 7 out of every 100 people know an illegal immigrant.  The fact that AT LEAST 7% of Americans know an illegal immigrant and fear that he/she will be deported is RIDICULOUS.

We have to end this invasion – that’s what it is – it’s an invasion!  And I’m not being racist – my great-grandfather came to the U.S. from Mexico and I am PROUD of my heritage.  But when you have a mass group of people coming into a country and using its resources without paying taxes back that is an INVASION plain and simple!  I invented this phrase when Senator Durbin introduced his bill to allow illegal immigrants to join our military as a path to becoming citizens (Response to Durbin’s Amnesty Bill): “Send them back, not to Iraq!”

December 9th Republican Debate Discusses Illegal Immigration

December 10, 2007

Unfortunately I was unable to watch tonight’s Univision (Spanish-language TV network) debate for the Republicans (Ron Paul, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Duncan Hunter, and Fred Thompson [Tom Tancredo boycotted]), but I heard that they discussed illegal immigration quite a bit (I wonder why!).

Here are my thoughts (and I’m going to try to get a copy of the debate somehow, but no promises): So far from what I’ve seen in the media, most candidates tried to be strong against illegal immigration while not being to offensive to the Hispanics, mainly by toning down their comments (and even perhaps altering their views/the way they worded them slightly).  Here’s what I don’t get: Wouldn’t the legal immigrants be angry at the illegals for all the trouble that they cause America?  They are the ones that get the stereotypes made, so I’d think that the legal immigrants would WANT the illegals sent home, showing that they (the legals) support our laws.  Second, who cares if a candidate offends an illegal immigrant – they’re not voting!  (or at least shouldn’t be, unless they’re a dead person in Detroit, and in that case, the NAACP will say that “all African Americans have the right to vote (even if they’re dead and somebody else is casting a bogus ballot for them)” – but that’s off topic).

Point is, from what I’ve seen, I’m a little disappointed that candidates didn’t stand up more against illegal immigration.  I’m going to stand with Tom Tancredo – why was this debate necessary?  If these Hispanics are going to vote using an English ballot (and I’ll NEVER advocate the use of a ballot in ANY other language!), they should listen to an English debate.

San Francisco ID’s – We Don’t Care What Gender You Are, or If You’re Legal!

November 23, 2007

In the latest step by the San Francisco Board of “Supervisors,” illegal immigrants will be allowed to get ID cards (but not drivers licenses – yet).  (For my views on this subject, check out this post).  And just a side point – if I were ever to get employed by the Secretary of State, or whatever it is in SF that will be issuing these pieces of bull crap, I’d copy down the names of these people and report them myself to ICE, at least for a day before I got fired.  Anyway…

The other thing that the Board approved here was to take “Gender” off the list of descriptions, at the request of the transgendered community/advocates.  I’m sorry – but you’re gender stays the same.  I don’t care if you have 500 surgeries, a boy is still a boy and a girl’s still a girl at the chromosomal level.  Second, this takes away another piece of identification.  There are lots of people out there that I can’t exactly tell what gender they are (just because of the way they look/dress), so this piece of info is helpful and even necessary at times.

I’m sorry, but San Francisco has stepped way over the line here.  Hopefully other cities/states won’t accept these ID’s as valid and SF will have to change their system.

New York Wants to Give Illegal Immigrants Driver’s Licenses

October 29, 2007

And I thought that Durbin’s DREAM Act was stupid!  What the heck is this – we now want to give ID CARDS to ILLEGALS!  Do you realize that this will just shoot down any deterrent measures that we try to implement.  What next, let them vote?  And put the ballots in Spanish?  Actually, with some form of ID, I guarantee you that we’ll see a lot of illegals illegally voting, especially in Detroit, where the NAACP thinks that any black person should be able to vote, even if they’re dead in the records, if “they” show up to the polls, they’ve got the right to vote!

And what does this do for national security?  How are we supposed to keep track of people that we DON’T want here if we’re giving them ID cards?  Sure, we can track their ID card at first, but then the ACLU sues the government because “that’s an invasion of their privacy!”  It’s been barely 6 years since September 11th, and WE are the ones who are encouraging terrorists to just come on in and prep for their attacks.

It’s just stupid – ICE needs to start sending the illegals back to their home country.  If we don’t crack down now, we’ll go on a path of destruction!

Go Get ‘Em, Mr. Tancredo!

October 24, 2007

Wow – I now love Representative Tom Tancredo (R-CO) more than ever (even though he can’t speak in public) (and no, I’m not voting for him – but if he could win I would in a heartbeat).

He demanded that Immigration and Customs Enforcement raid Senator Richard Durbin’s (D-IL) press conference promoting his bill that would give legal status to illegal immigrants who are high school graduates, if they attend college or serve in the United States military for two years.  According to Tancredo, there would be illegal immigrants at the press conference, although Joe Shoemaker, Senator Durbin’s spokesman, said that the three who would be present were all on temporary legal status (but who knows).  ICE took no action at the conference.

Now – let’s address a couple of issues – whether or not there were illegals at the conference, this bill is SCARY!  You’re telling me that somebody can cross the border, enlist in the military and then become a citizen!  What’s the screening here?  Are we going to allow Arabs to do this – next we’ll have secret Al Qaeda agents infiltrating our ARMY!

But what if they just choose to graduate from high school?  Well, are we going to make them learn English, or will we compromise and begin offering Calculus classes in Spanish?  DO YOU SEE WHERE THIS WILL LEAD!  “Americans” will cease to be Americans!  It’s ridiculous.

And here’s a quote from the New York Times showing how liberally biased they are:

“Congressman, have you no shame?” Mr. Durbin said in a statement, indirectly comparing Mr. Tancredo to Senator Joseph McCarthy and his anti-communist hearings in the 1950s.  COME ON – how is this comparing Tancredo to McCarthy?  The NY Times is just promoting this liberal trash like Senator Durbin.

Kick the illegals out – so that we give the opportunities to the people who actually waited to become citizens.  Immigration is a great component of America, but when it is abused, it will lead to our downfall!

Illegal Immigrants Suing Danbury for Arresting Them

September 29, 2007

10 illegal immigrants (Juan Barrera, Jose Cabrera, Daniel Chavez, Jose Duma, Jose Llibisupa, Isaac Maldonado, Edgar Redrovan, Nicholas Segundo Sanchez, Juan Carlos Simbana, and Danilo Brito Vargas) were arrested in Danbury, Connecticut (9 in a sting operation, and 1 in an unrelated traffic stop).  They were shipped to detention centers around the U.S.  The 1 was deported, and the other 9’s cases are being processed.

The 10 are now suing the city of Danbury, being helped by Yale (and I saw this story on Fox’s Neil Cavuto’s Common Sense show last night) – and on the show – I saw what had to be the dumbest Yale student ever – she completely ignored the argument that a person here illegally shouldn’t be able to sue ANYBODY (I think she was kinda nervous, because she fumbled her hands and earpiece a lot – but still – how she got into Yale is beyond me).

I mean – COME ON!  If you’re here illegally, I don’t care what rights you have under the constitution – you have to leave.  It’s the federal government’s job to find out if the city of Danbury and it’s freedom fighter mayor Mark Boughton committed a crime.  The illegal immigrants should be deported immediately, and not be allowed to sue.

Think of it this way – if we allow for illegals to sue people/cities/whatever, and we say “we won’t prosecute you – we want justice to be served, and the criminals punished,” then you’re gonna have illegals lying about crimes so that they can stay here.  I hope the courts just throw this out and make Yale look like a bunch of morons.  Then ICE needs to deport these people.

Illegal Immigrant Kills Phoenix Cop

September 23, 2007

Phoenix police officer Nick Erfle was killed by illegal immigrant Erik Jovani Martinez.  Martinez had been arrested for theft before had been deported.  He came back over a year later, and was about to be arrested on warrants for multiple crimes when he shot Officer Erfle.  He stole a car and took a hostage before he was killed by police as drew a gun to the hostage’s head.  At least this scum can’t hurt any more CITIZENS!

How many more cases like this will it take before illegal immigration becomes serious to ALL Americans.

Not that I’m downplaying that just being an illegal is wrong – but this just adds an extra reason to deport these people.  ALL illegal immigrants, whether they have anchor babies or not, have been here 1 day or 80 years, are criminals or have never ran a stop sign should be deported!  That means that ICE needs to do it’s job.

It’s unfair to Americans – the taxpayers, and immigrants who are trying to get in legally.

The borders need to be better patrolled.  We need a fence/wall whatever – and we need help from the Mexican government.  And we need to crack down – and start deporting these people – show them who’s in control.
