Here are the final results, from the Wayne County Clerk, for the Democrats 13th Congressional District primary:
REP IN CONGRESS DIST 13
Vote for not more than 1
Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick . . . . . 20,906 38.90%
Martha G. Scott . . . . . . . . 13,380 24.90%
Mary Waters. . . . . . . . . . 19,355 36.01%
WRITE-IN. . . . . . . . . . . 103 .19%
Over Votes . . . . . . . . . 55
Under Votes . . . . . . . . . 1,768
So, Cheeky K. wound up winning her primary, and obviously she’ll go on to win the general election against Ed Gubics. Had Martha Scott actually wanted Kilpatrick out, she’d have dropped out and endorsed Mary Water. But, perhaps its not her fault. Who knows how many dead people her son, Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, round up to vote for her!
