Here are the results from the North Carolina Primary as of 8:45 P.M. EDT with 18% reporting:
Democrats:
- Obama 330,965 62% 20 delegates
- Clinton 194,701 36% 13 delegates
- No Preference 5,687 1% 0 delegates
A lot of the areas around Raleigh (Wake, Orange, Durham) counties have reported well over half of their precincts, and this is where Obama’s main support is coming from, while the outskirts of the state (Clinton’s support) haven’t come in yet much at all (they have the option of staying open until 8:30, and it’s usually the outskirts that do this). I think he may fall to the low 60% range, or even fall below 60% by the end of the night.
Republicans:
- McCain 114,549 77%
- Huckabee 15,565 10%
- Paul 11,043 7%
- No Preference 5,235 4%
Done Reporting,
Ranting Republican
